I’ve learned that there is no way to make it in this industry without being connected, and it’s obvious I’m not. Or wasn’t before coming out.
I could write down all the names of the people I’ve met since being here and connect multiple lines between them all. A lot of Midwesterners, too. The common thread? They didn’t get serious until they were in SF. Makes sense, because you can’t afford to be here otherwise.
Regardless of the outcome, this has been an incredible journey. I’ve grown in my role a lot. I’ve managed to survive almost a month with my cofounder – something we’ve both laughed about, despite our mutual frustrations with each other.
Just over a week left. Let’s see if we can finish in style.
